This is a feature upgrade (not a security update)<\/strong> and there is often a follow-up release (version 4.9.1) published shortly after a major release like this. Because of that, if you want to wait on applying this upgrade, that’s fine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n There are some great features, so doing an upgrade would be good if you’re actively adding new content to your website.<\/p>\n WordPress 4.9 \u201cTipton\u201d<\/a> (wordpress.org)<\/p>\n Major Customizer Improvements, Code Error Checking, and More!<\/p>\n Version 4.9 of WordPress, named \u201cTipton\u201d in honor of jazz musician and band leader Billy Tipton, is available for download or update in your WordPress dashboard. New features in 4.9 will smooth your design workflow and keep you safe from coding errors.<\/p>\n Featuring design drafts, scheduling, and locking, along with preview links, the Customizer workflow improves collaboration for content creators. What\u2019s more, code syntax highlighting and error checking will make for a clean and smooth site building experience.
